THANDIE NEWTON IS SUCH A BEAUTY

Thandie Newton is one beauty in Hollywood. and yes she is, shes very talented and has made appearances on the big screen ever-since the nineties starring alongside household names such as Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise just to mention a few. Her tell-it-as-it-is nature has been canned in by advisers, publicists as well as industry pressure. Thandie has had her fair share of  it all, you name it; racism, sexual abuse, sexism and she’s finally decided ” I kind of gave up on being given gifts from the industry. I just thought I was going to have to be a rebel, fighting for ever.” So now, Thandie says what and how she feels, when she actually feels it, hoping to be a voice. more pic after the cut.

Thandie, talks about her works in the US; she says

“I love being here, but I can’t work, because I can’t do Downton Abbey, can’t be in Victoria, can’t be in Call The Midwife. Well, I could, but I don’t want to play someone who’s being racially abused.” Newton told the Sunday Times Magazine. . “I’m not interested in that, don’t want to do it,” she continued. “There just seems to be a desire for stuff about the royal family, stuff from the past, which is understandable, but it just makes it slim pickintgs for people of colour.”
“I’m talented at what I do, but I’ve had to struggle against racism and sexism,” Newton said. “But I’m glad of it, in a way, that I survived and overcame.”
Thandie currently featuring  in HBO’s smash ‘West world’ and now to BBC1’s drama series Line of Duty where she’ll be playing Detective Chief Inspector Roz Huntley, who finds herself in the sights of the AC-12 anti-corruption force, Newton’s career has never been busier. lovely spirit...

ZOE SALDANA FOR LOS ANGELES CONFIDENTIAL MAGAZINE.

Zoe Saldana is on the latest cover of L.A Confidential, the mother of two is photographed by Omar Cruz in a white layered tulle frock on the cover page.

In her exclusive with the magazine, the star actress talks on being a Hollywood mom, Star Trek, Ben Affleck’s Live By Night & lot more .

Asked to play heroine in a periodic movie would not have been Zoe’s first choice, she’s rather futuristic :
“I would have never considered gangster movies. I was like, ‘Me? It’s a period piece—I do more future stuff.’ And then I just told myself, ‘Why not just work with Ben Affleck? Why not just play an Afro-Cuban that sells molasses to make rum in the 1920s in Florida?’ Like, ‘Why not do that?’”

On Embracing Feminity :
“Now I am into being a woman in a different way,” she says after her string of empowered roles. “I react very negatively to feeling vulnerable or having others think that I’m in a vulnerable position. So I’m listening to those fears, and I’m addressing them by playing roles that make me feel more vulnerable. I’m embracing that femininity, that strength, that I used to mistake for weakness.” She admits that when she became a mother—and especially the mother of twins (she and her husband, Italian artist Marco Perego, are parents to two-year-old twin sons, Bowie and Cy)—she expected the doubled-down demands of parenthood to sap her vitality.

She soon proved herself wrong. “I would think it would slow me down, and it hasn’t,” she beams. “I have all this energy now for so many things that I want to do.” “It’s fantastic having twins,” she adds. “This is something that we certainly didn’t plan for. We wanted to start a family, but being blessed with a two-in-one shot is great. I grew up in a family of women. Now I have these three gentlemen who I’m living with, and who are just Mowglis: savages and super playful and spontaneous. I’m encouraged to keep up. I drank the Kool-Aid, and I love it!” See more pix.

GABRIELLE UNION TALKS ABOUT LIFE IN HARPER BAZAAR

Actress Gabrielle Union is styled by Chrissy Rutherford & Carrie Goldberg mostly in white ensembles with the exception of the Galvan “Moonlight” cross-back dress – glitzy gown. Photographed by James Ryang.

In her sit down with Harper’s bazaar’s Rebecca Carroll, she speaks frankly on race, rape , her new movie ‘Birth Of A Nation’ and more .

Younger Gabrielle did not love her skin, thinking beauty was judged by white ideals :
“When we were their age,” says Union, “we weren’t anybody’s standard of beauty. When I was your age, I didn’t love my skin color, I didn’t love my lips. I didn’t love my nose, I didn’t love my hair. I didn’t love anything. I didn’t love my body. Because no one was choosing me—my self-esteem was determined by somebody choosing me. I used to curl my lips,” she says, pressing her lips together to demonstrate. “And I see pictures and I look insane, but it was me trying to minimize my blackness.” Her young Gabby girl self giggles at the absurdity of it in retrospect. “It all boiled down to: I need some fool to choose me and then I can be okay with being brown.”

Union is speaking up on racism and how we are all still very much affected :
“”Nothing has changed,” she says, referring to the treatment of black people in America, and the ways in which we are perceived and vilified and punished for merely wanting to be valued as human beings. “The venom has not lessened.” Just being black has long been cause enough for vilification. Add being a woman to the mix—particularly in light of the election results, which has given us a president who ran an openly racist and misogynistic campaign—and it’s a straight garbage fire. “I think what I was
