The Ankara fabric is quite known to be a symbol of African culture and fashion, and that's why most fashion designers in Nigeria are more into the fabric to make blouse, skirts, gowns etc. Ankara itself represent Africa, the colourful print represent our culture and lifestyle and the texture is suitable for a majority of African climate. I think it's high time designers who uses Ankara are celebrated on the international fashion scene rather than celebrate a foreign luxury line that uses Ankara for its collections.
