MICHELLE OBAMA FOR VOGUE MAGAZINE

Out going first lady Michelle Obama stuned on the cover of Vogue magazine for the third time in seven years. Beautiful

as she always is, Mrs Obama was photographed by world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz in a cover story titled ‘The First Lady The World Fell in Love With’.

In the accompanying interview with Vogue’s Jonathan Van Metter, Michelle touches on what leaving her home of 8 years feels like, being a role model & lots more .

Mrs Obama had a teary-eyed moment, admitting how much she’ll miss life at the white house : ” “You know, there are little . . . moments. Even today I was looking out at this view here.” She gestures to the windows. “Looking out on the South Lawn and the Washington Monument and it had just rained and the grass was really green and everything popped a little bit more. It’s soooo beautiful. And for that moment I thought, I’m going to miss waking up to this, having access to this anytime I want.”

That notwithstanding, Mrs Obama thinks that a 2-term tenure is just perfect, no more : “But on the flip side . . . it’s time. I think our democracy has it exactly right: two terms, eight years. It’s enough.”

Being a public figure, Michelle has learnt that both the young and the old look up to her, conscientizing her of the fact she does in fact have the power to influence : “Kids are watching us,” she says. “I experience it every single day. They hang on my every word, what I wear, what I say. They are writing papers about us. They come to us and they’re like, ‘I dressed like you for Halloween”. see more pix after the cut.
